Montenegro’s EU measure of inflation accelerated for the third straight month in June, figures from the Statistical Office showed Monday.

The harmonized index of consumer prices, or HICP, rose 2.0 percent year-over-year in June, faster than May’s 1.6 percent climb. It was the fourth successive monthly increase.

Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages grew 2.4 percent annually in June and utility costs went up by 2.0 percent. Meanwhile, transport costs declined 1.6 percent.

On a monthly basis, the harmonized index of consumer prices climbed 1.2 percent in June.
