FXStreet (Córdoba) – Nonfarm payrolls report showed US economy added fewer jobs than expected in September.

The economy created 142,000 jobs in September according to the Labour Department. The reading missed the 203,000 gain expected.

August reading was downwardly revised to 136,000 from 173,000 previously estimated. July figure was also revised to 223,000 in July, down from the previously reported 245,000.

Meanwhile, the unemployment rate stood flat at 5.1% as expected after falling in August.
