Norway’s current account surplus decreased in the three months ended September from a year ago, figures from Statistics Norway showed Wednesday.

The current account surplus shrank to NOK 44 billion in the third quarter from NOK 49 billion in the same period of the previous year. In the second quarter, the surplus was NOK 71 billion.

The goods and services trade surplus dropped to NOK 35 billion from NOK 41 billion a year earlier.

At the same time, the surplus in the income and current transfers broadly stable in the September quarter. It rose slightly to NOK 8.28 billion from NOK 8.27 billion in the preceding year.
