Norway’s jobless rate increased slightly in July, data from Statistics Norway revealed Wednesday.
The jobless rate came in at seasonally adjusted 4.3 percent in July, which was 0.1 percent above the previous non-overlapping three-month period. It was also above the expected rate of 4.5 percent.
There were 120,000 unemployed persons in July. Unemployment increased by 3,000 in July from April, which was within the error margin of the labor force survey, the statistical office said.
The rate for July indicates the average of June to August period and the April figure reflects March to May period.
The unemployment rate for June was adjusted to 4.4 percent from 4.5 percent.
