Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) appears to be addressing the concerns of a lot of consumers or users. The company has decided to make its Google Maps available on Android OS also. That means the maps will be available on the mobile phone running with the Android OS. There is already a feeling that the search engine giant should have done this long time back. It was only a surprise to many that the company failed to do it for a long time.
Desktop To Mobile
When Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) incorporated Maps into its iPhone a few years ago, there was a lot of criticisms for its failure to provide the map properly. Finally, the technology bellwether had to make amends to allow Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Google Maps to be used by the users. From then on, there was an expectation that the search engine giant will also follow suit to allow its maps to be available on the handsets.
The recent update suggests that a user could send the destination information directly to the mobile device from the user’s desktop. The company clarified that it was much similar to that of Apple’s iOS. Reports indicated that the feature appeared t pretty facile as pointed out by Android Police.
Option To send
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Android needs the latest version of the app installed into the mobile handset from the Maps website. There is also option to send a query to the gadget whether the user signed into his or her account in Google. Thereafter, an actionable notification pops on and the user will be able to check the destination’s website. Alternatively, the user could also check the profile card.
Review of the feature suggest that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s feature is a simple and easy one. That is something the users would have thought that the feature was already there though it was not. Some of the users appeared to be not aware of the feature.
