FXStreet (Córdoba) – The unemployment rate increased to 6.0% in the third quarter, up from 5.9% in the previous quarter, Statistics New Zealand said today. This reading matching expectations.

At the same time, 11,000 fewer people were employed than in the second quarter, a 0.4% drop. This was the first quarterly fall in employment in three years.

For the year to the September 2015 quarter, annual employment growth slowed to 1.5%, down from 3.0% in the year to June 2015 and below the 2.5% increase expected.
