Poland’s industrial production continued to grow in August, though the pace of increase was less-than-expected, figures from the statistical office indicated Thursday.

Production grew 5.3 percent year-on-year in August, which was less than the 6.4 percent increase economists had forecast. Manufacturing output rose 6.1 percent.

On a month-on-month basis, industrial production decreased 7.1 percent in August, which was a bigger fall than the 6.1 percent slump economists had predicted.

Construction output rose 4.8 percent annually in August, but fell 0.8 percent from the previous month.
