Poland industrial production grew less-than-forecast in April from the same month a year ago, preliminary data from the Central Statistical Office showed Wednesday.
Industrial production rose 2.3 percent annually, which was much slower than the 5.5 percent growth forecast by economists.
Manufacturing output grew 2.5 percent and production in the mining and quarrying sector rose 4.3 percent. Output in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply declined 1.9 percent, while that in the water supply and related services sector grew 4.6 percent.
Production plunged 8.1 percent from the previous month, which was worse than the 4.9 percent slump economists had predicted.
In the January to April period, industrial production rose 4.4 percent.
In April, construction output grew 8.5 percent year-on-year and 8.7 percent from the previous month. During the first four months of the year, construction output increased 5.1 percent.
