Poland’s manufacturing sector expanded at the fastest pace in three months in October, as output and new orders grew at faster rates, survey figures from Markit Economics showed Monday.

The Purchasing Managers’ Index, or PMI, rose to 52.2 in October from September’s 12-month low of 50.9. Any reading above 50 indicates expansion in the sector.

Both output and new orders climbed for the thirteenth consecutive month in October, and at the strongest rate in three months. New business inflows were supported by renewed growth of new export orders during the month, following a slight decrease in September.

Manufacturing employment rose further in October and the current sequence of job creation now stretches to twenty-seven months.

On the prices front, input prices continued to decline in October, owing to falling commodity prices. This forced firms to lower their selling prices, with the rate of decline the strongest in thirteen months.
