Poland’s industrial production and retail sales grew more than expected in June, while producer prices declined from the prior year.

Industrial production grew 4.7 percent in June from May, faster than an expected increase of 4 percent. Likewise, annual growth in output came in at 7.6 percent compared to consensus forecast of 7 percent.

Retail sales were up 3.8 percent annually in June. The rate was better than the expected increase of 3.6 percent. Month-on-month, sales gained 0.9 percent.

Another report from the statistical office showed that producer prices increased 0.4 percent on a monthly basis in June, the same rate of increase as seen in May, but faster than an expected 0.2 percent rise.

Year-on-year, producer prices slid 1.6 percent after easing 2.1 percent a month ago. The pace of decline was slower than a 1.9 percent fall forecast by economists.
