A Universal Shopping Cart Across Platforms For ShopStyle, POPSUGAR, and 14K ShopStyle Collective Member Sites by the End of 2016
Express, Neiman Marcus, Target, Topshop, yoox.com among others, on board at launch
Brian Sugar, founder and chief executive officer of POPSUGAR Inc., a global media and technology company and parent to fashion search platform ShopStyle and lifestyle media publisher POPSUGAR, today announced plans to launch a universal shopping cart called ShopStyle Checkout that will enable consumers to purchase products from multiple retail partners in a single seamless transaction using one login.
“We know that consumers get frustrated when they have to jump from retailer site to retailer site to purchase multiple items and enter their credit card information over and over again — especially on mobile,” said Sugar. “ShopStyle Checkout will eliminate the friction and redefine digital shopping, making ShopStyle the global fashion marketplace.”
ShopStyle Checkout will launch on ShopStyle’s iOS app in Q2 and roll out across all ShopStyle platforms, as well as 14,000 ShopStyle Collective influencer sites, by the end of 2016. Retail partners will remain the Merchant of Record and include Andrew Marc, Aphrodite 1994, Apothica, Bandier, Charlotte Tilbury US, Charm & Chain, Express, Glamorous, Loeffler Randall, Marissa Collections, Neiman Marcus Group, Nicole Miller, Planet Blue, Rare London, River Island, Scoop NYC, Show Me Your Mumu, Target, Topshop, Trina Turk, Velvet by Graham and Spencer, ViX Paula Hermanny, yoox.com and Yumi Kim and will offer over 3.4M products at launch. By year’s end, ShopStyle Checkout will boast over 100 retailers.
ShopStyle has 18 million monthly visitors from over 175 countries and drives over $1 billion in revenue per year to its retail partners. With the introduction of ShopStyle Checkout, ShopStyle will transform from a fashion search platform into a fashion marketplace.
“We are uniquely positioned to succeed,” said Sugar. “We already have strong retailer relationships, our customers visit with the intent to shop, unlike other platforms, and we have the technology to make it work.”
ShopStyle Checkout is powered by commerce gateway technology from Cosmic Cart and Stripe Relay. (POPSUGAR Inc. acquired Cosmic Cart in October 2015 to accelerate retailer integrations.) Cosmic Cart will seamlessly integrate with retailers’ existing systems and platforms such as Demandware Commerce Cloud.
ShopStyle Checkout will also be enabled on POPSUGAR, the #1 millennial lifestyle brand, offering consumers shoppable editorial content and advertising.
