Portugal’s consumer confidence decreased in June after improving in the previous month, figures from Statistics Portugal showed Wednesday.

The consumer confidence index fell to -12.6 in June from -11.9 in May. In April, the reading was -12.4.

At the same time, the overall economic sentiment indicator held steady at 1.2 in June.

The index measuring financial situation of the households over the next twelve months worsened to -1.4 in June from -0.9 in the preceding month. Similarly, the judgment of the economic situation of the country over the year dropped in June, with the index falling to -4.6 from -4.2.

Unemployment expectations of the country over the next twelve months increased in June. The respective index climbed to 8.0 from 6.6. The expectations regarding saving capacity over the year weakened to -36.5 from -35.8.
