U.K. CIPS/Markit construction PMI for January is due to be released at 4:30 am ET Tuesday. The index is forecast to fall to 57.6 in January from 57.8 in December.
Ahead of the data, the pound fell against its major rivals.
As of 4:25 am ET, the pound was trading at 0.7599 against the euro, 1.4643 against the Swiss franc, 1.4364 against the U.S. dollar and 173.33 against the yen.
