Following the release of U.K. retail sales figures and British mortgage approvals data for February at 5:30 am ET Thursday, the pound declined slightly against the other major currencies.
The pound was trading at 1.4077 against the greenback, 158.84 against the yen, 1.3734 against the franc and 0.7934 against the euro around 5:33 am ET.
