The pound lost ground against the other major currencies in European morning deals on Friday.
The pound fell to a 5-1/2-year low of 1.4338 against the dollar and a 12-month low of 168.19 versus the yen, reversing from an early high of 1.4428 and a 2-day high of 170.57, respectively.
The pound slipped to a 3-day low of 1.4385 against the franc, off its prior high of 1.4506.
The pound reversed from an early high of 0.7525 against the euro, edging down to 0.7601.
The pound may locate support around 1.42 against the greenback, 1.41 against the franc, 165.5 against the yen and 0.78 against the euro.
