The Asian Development Bank is scheduled to lend China $300 million in order to resolve dangerous pollution levels in Beijing and its surrounding area.

The regional development bank said low air quality had hit a severe level which was affecting health and sustainable growth in the capital region.

China is the biggest polluter in the world.

The loan, intended for reducing the coal use and settling other pollution issues, will target Beijing city and neighboring areas such as Hebie and Tianjin.
