The Australian dollar is nearly flat in calm trade Wednesday as traders anticipate the result of Greek debt negotiations.
European leaders commended Greece’s economic reform proposals, saying it was the first real proposals for several weeks.
The Aussie stood at 69.27 euro cents from Tuesday’s 68.68 euro cents, and 77.34 US cents from 77.39 US cents.
Markets hope Greece won’t default on its debts. Although there is no deal yet, traders are hoping “Greece and its creditors will find common ground,” said Chris Tedder, Research Analyst at Forex.com.
