The British pound edged lower versus other major counterparts on Friday.

Against the euro and the US dollar, sterling dropped at €0.7259 and $1.4687, respectively. The currency also fell to ¥177.02.

Meanwhile, Britain’s goods trade deficit on Thursday widened to a seven-month peak in February, which was at £10.34 billion from January’s £9.17 billion.
