President Donald Tusk of the European Union on Thursday urged the global community to show unity on the refugee crisis, and to recognize it as a global problem.
Tusk said he asked for G7’s support to increase global assistance for the immediate and long-term needs of refugees.
At a briefing before the Group of Seven summit, he said that if the G7 does not lead in dealing with the crisis, nobody would.
The G7 groups Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States.
