As markets jump-start trading week, Futures on France’s CAC 40 Index plunged following Paris sustained the worst terror attacks in Europe’s history in over a decade.
Contracts on the country’s stock-benchmark index fell 1.5% in London. It has dropped nearly 9% since April, but remains as one of the best performers in developed markets for this year. Euro Stoxx 50 Index futures lost 1.4%. Last week, the Stoxx Europe 600 Index erased 2.7%.
Recently, attacks in different countries emerged as woes the global economic recuperation is slowing have pushed shares lower.
