Finance Minister Taro Aso of Japan said he told Treasury Secretary Jack Lew of the U.S. that Tokyo was too anxious about recent one-sided currency moves.
He told reporters that he told Lew that excessive volatility and disorderly currency moves would have a negative impact on the economy. He also mentioned the concern he had over the recent one-sided moves in the currency market.
