Naira extended its losses for a second day, falling against the dollar on Tuesday after the Nigerian central bank removed its currency peg to ease lingering foreign currency shortages choking growth.

The currency fell 1.4 percent at 286 to the dollar, with $2 million traded. Naira had collapsed 30 percent to 282 on Monday.
