Japan’s Nikkei fell to a more than 5-week low on Wednesday, widening earlier losses, as a slide in Chinese shares raised concerns about the Chinese economy’s stability. The share average of Nikkei plunged 1.6% to 20,222.63, its lowest closing level since July 13 and the biggest daily percentage drop in 6 weeks. However, Toshiba Corp. jumped 7.7% after announcing a new board to improve corporate governance.
