The New York Stock Exchange short interest was down 2.2% in the 1st-half of October, NYSE said on Monday.
The exchange’s short interest dropped about 18.033 billion shares as of Oct. 15, compared with 18.433 billion shares as of Sept. 30.
Shorting can be part of a hedging strategy.
