The Swiss franc ascended against its major rivals, commencing the European session on Monday.

The currency closed at 1.0756 franc per euro, 0.9801 franc per US dollar, and 1.5189 franc per British pound. Against the Japanese yen, it finished at ¥126.94.

Last week, the Swiss National Bank Vice Chairman Fritz Zurbruegg said the central bank saw no reason to modify its interest rate policy and the current negative rate level reached the objective of weakening the currency.

Traders will look forward to the producer price index due Thursday.
