The US dollar was close to two-week high versus a basket of major currencies Thursday, holding most of its advances following the minutes of the Federal Reserve’s April meeting gave no major surprises.
The minutes indicated policymakers stipulated it would be too early to increase interest rates in June.
The greenback stood at $1.1094 per euro. Against the Japanese yen, the dollar closed at ¥121.49.
FOMC minutes showed a few clues of participants becoming more worried regarding “risks to the economic outlook, with little mention of offsetting upside risks,” said analysts at JPMorgan.
