The US dollar sustained broad losses Wednesday, snapping six consecutive sessions of advances, following retail sales data failed to meet the market’s expectations.

US retail sales climbed 0.9% in March, while core sales softened.

American figures over the rest of this week will become much significant, “further misses will likely drive more sustained losses for the USD,” said analysts at ANZ.

The greenback ended at $1.0708 per euro. Against the Japanese yen, the dollar closed at ¥119.39.
