Verizon Communication Inc. planned to unveil a second proposal to acquire Yahoo Inc.’s core internet unit for approximately $3 billion.

People privy to the dealing disclosed the telecommunications company was awaited to hit the Monday deadline to present its new offer. They added Yahoo will conduct at least one series of biddings, which could change by the last round.

One of the sources mentioned Verizon is not keen on purchasing other Yahoo assets. Previously, Yahoo said it considered selling non-core assets such as patents and real estate, which could generate over $1 billion.
