Romania’s producer prices decreased further in October, figures from the National Institute of Statistics showed Wednesday.
The producer price index fell 2.6 percent year-over-year in October, slightly slower than previous month’s 2.8 percent decline. Prices have been falling since October last year.
Domestic market producer prices dipped 2.5 percent in October from a year ago and prices in the foreign market went down by 3.0 percent.
Among the major industrial groupings, prices in the energy industry plunged 9.2 percent in October and intermediate goods industry slid by 2.2 percent. At the same time, capital goods industry showed no variations.
On a monthly basis, producer prices edged down 0.2 percent in October, following a 0.3 percent fall in the preceding month.
