Samsung Sell $1b TVs a Month in USA
Samsung Electronics Co. saw its monthly shipment of TVs reach US1 billion for the first time in the North American market in October.
It marked a giant leap from the monthly sales of 100 million in September 2004 and 500 million in October 2007, the South Korean tech giant said.
Samsung added it became the No. 1 player in the US flat TV market, currently taking up 35.1 %. Its share in the Canadian market comes in at 38.4 %.
Citing the data compiled by market tracker NPD, Samsung said it took up 52.1 % of the US market for Ultra HD TVs as of the third quarter. Its stake for the Canadian market in the segment came to 54.4 %.
Samsung said it plans to use various marketing efforts to garner a larger slice of the North American market during the year-end shopping season.
