Scott Baio, “Donald Trump can take the liberal media pounding.”

Actor Scott Baio, a well-known Hollywood conservative who campaigned for Ronald Reagan, is backing Donald Trump for President because he loves how he communicates with his supporters on what he is going to do as President of the United States.

“He speaks like I speak, he communicates with people very well. I want him, as any one person can do, to go into Washington and blow it up,” the “Charles In Charge” and “Happy Days” actor said in a TV interview Saturday.

Mr. Baio believes Donald Trump can take the heavy media pounding that faces any conservative in America.

“They are going to attack whomever the Republican nominee is,” he said, “and we need somebody to relentlessly, relentlessly attack Hillary. It is the only way we’re going to win. I am trying to be a classy guy, but to win elections nowadays, the Democrats and liberals attack viciously.

“Conservatives want you to live your life, liberals want you to live their life,” Mr. Baio added.

Support for all 3 of the current Republican candidates for President has grown with the narrowing of the field, but Donald Trump continues to hold a double-digit lead over both his rivals for the GOP presidential nomination, according to a new Rasmussen Reports survey.

The latest national telephone survey of likely Republican primary voters finds these numbers:

  1. Donald Trump, 43%
  2. Ted Cruz, 28%
  3. John Kasich’s 21%

Just 5% of GOP voters like some other candidate, and 3% are still undecided.

In the last Rasmussen survey of the Republican field just after the 20 February South Carolina primary and Jeb Bush’s departure from the race, Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Ben Carson were still in the running.

At that time, it was Donald Trump 36%, Marco Rubio 21%, Ted Cruz 17%, John Kasich 12% and Ben Carson with 8% GOP support.

Despite Donald Trump’s wins in most of the state primaries since, all 3 of the candidates have experienced similar gains in support, but Mr. Trump still holds a 15-pt lead over his closest rival.

Dr. Carson has endorsed Mr. Trump. The other candidates who have left the race over the past month have not thrown their support to anyone else yet.
