Slovakia’s industrial production decreased for the first time in nine months in August, figures from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Friday.

Industrial production fell a working-day-adjusted 0.5 percent year-over-year in August, reversing a 11.9 percent sharp rise in July. It was the first decline since December last year.

Production in the manufacturing sector rose 0.3 percent annually in August, while mining and quarrying output plunged by 9.1 percent.

On a monthly basis, industrial production dropped a seasonally adjusted 1.6 percent in August.
