Slovakia’s retail sales growth eased in October after accelerating in the previous month, figures from the Statistical office of the Slovak Republic showed Thursday.
Excluding automobiles, retail trade climbed 1.9 percent year-over-year in October, slower than the 3.0 percent increase in September. Sales have been rising since March this year.
Sales of food, beverages and tobacco in specialized stores surged 14.0 percent in October from a year ago. Sales of automotive fuel alone grew by 7.5 percent.
On a monthly basis, retail sales edged up 0.2 percent in October.
During the first ten months of the year, total retail trade turnover advanced 1.5 percent compared with the corresponding period last year.
