Slovenia’s economic growth eased for the second straight quarter in the three months ended September, figures from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia showed Monday.
Gross domestic product advanced an unadjusted 2.5 percent year-over-year in the third quarter, slower than previous quarter’s 2.7 percent rise. In the first quarter of this year, the rate of growth was 2.8 percent.
Gross fixed capital formation contracted 3.9 percent in the September quarter, due to lower construction investment. On the other hand, investment in machinery and equipment increased by 5.5 percent.
In the third quarter, both exports and imports grew by 4.5 percent and 4.1 percent, respectively. The total value added of the economy went up by 2.7 percent.
On seasonally adjusted basis, GDP expanded at a slower pace of 2.1 percent annually in the three-month period to September, following a 2.6 percent climb in the previous three months. Quarterly, the economic growth moderated to 0.4 percent from 0.7 percent.
