South Korea’s unemployment rate held steady in June, figures from Statistics Korea showed Wednesday.

The seasonally adjusted jobless rate came in at 3.9 percent in June, the same rate as in May. In the same month of the previous year, the unemployment rate was 3.6 percent.

On an unadjusted basis, the unemployment rate rose slightly to 3.9 percent in June from 3.8 percent in the preceding month.

The number of unemployed people increased to 1.05 million form 1.02 million in the prior month. The number of employed people totaled 26.20 million, up from 26.18 million a month earlier.
