South Korea’s money supply growth slowed in October after accelerating in the previous month, preliminary figures from the Bank of Korea showed Wednesday.

M2, a broad measure of money supply, rose 8.8 percent year-on-year in October, slower than the 9.4 percent climb in September.

On a monthly basis, M2 money supply edged up 0.1 percent in October, following a 0.7 percent increase in the preceding month.

Annual growth in liquidity moderated to 9.0 percent in October from 9.2 percent a month earlier.

Similarly, liquidity of financial institutions grew at a slower pace of 10.1 percent yearly in October, after 10.5 percent hike in the prior month.
