South Korea’s unemployment rate held steady as expected in April, figures from Statistics Korea showed Wednesday.

The seasonally adjusted jobless rate came in at 3.7 percent in April, the same rate as in the previous month. The figures was also matched with consensus estimate.

On an unadjusted basis, unemployment rate fell slightly to 3.9 percent in April from 4.0 percent in March.

The number of unemployed people decreased to 1.05 million in April from 1.07 million in the preceding month. At the same time, the number of employed people totaled 25.9 million in April, up from 25.5 million a month ago.
