Spain’s consumer prices declined for the second straight month as estimated in February, final data from the statistical office INE showed Friday.
Consumer prices fell 0.8 percent year-on-year, faster than January’s 0.3 percent decrease. Prices declined for the second straight month after staying flat in December.
The statistical office confirmed the preliminary estimate published on February 26.
Month-on-month, consumer prices slid 0.4 percent following a 1.9 percent decline seen in previous month. The INE initially estimated a 0.3 percent fall for February.
The harmonized index of consumer prices slid 1 percent from last year, which was revised from the initially estimated 0.9 percent decrease. In January, prices fell 0.4 percent.
The HICP decreased 0.4 percent on month, in line with preliminary estimate.
