Sumner Redstone Restores Daughter As Healthcare Agent

Sumner Redstone, 92 anni, has restored his daughter Shari as a healthcare agent, both Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman and deputy COO Tom Dooley have stepped away from their roles as health agents to the ailing founder of the company.
A person describe as a family friend who lives near Sumner Redstone in Los Angeles has also assumed the role of health agent because a judge was concerned that his daughter’s primary residence is in Massachusetts.
Manuela Herzer the former girlfriend of Mr. Redstone is suing to be reinstated as the billionaire media mogul’s healthcare agent. The parties, though, are close to settling the legal proceedings, it was confirmed Wednesday.
Settlement discussions have been going on for a week and, in fact, Mr. Dauman had been scheduled for deposition Tuesday, where he would have been put under oath and asked probing questions about the Mr. Redstone’s mental capacity. Mr. Dauman’s appearance was canceled.
Shari Redstone had been scheduled to testify Wednesday, her appearance also was canceled.
If a settlement is not reached, the depositions would be rescheduled and a trial pitting Ms. Herzer against Sumner Redstone could start in May.
