Swedish consumer price inflation remained stable in December, Statistics Sweden reported Thursday.
The consumer price index climbed 0.1 percent from a year ago. Inflation has been 0.1 percent since September. The annual rate also matched economists’ expectations.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent, reversing a 0.2 percent fall in November. However, it was slightly slower than a 0.2 percent rise forecast by economists.
Underlying inflation slowed marginally to 0.9 percent from 1 percent in November. Economists had forecast it to remain unchanged at 1 percent.
Month-on-month, underlying inflation came in at 0.2 percent versus a decline of 0.1 percent a month ago.
The harmonized index of consumer prices rose 0.2 percent from prior month taking the annual growth to 0.7 percent.
Separately, Statistics Sweden announced that house prices rose 11 percent annually in the fourth quarter with all counties registering increases.
