Swedish producer prices decline at the fastest pace in nearly three years during February, led by weaker prices in the export market, figures from Statistics Sweden showed Thursday.

The producer price index fell 4.2 percent year-on-year following 3.1 percent in January. The latest decline was the biggest since June 2013, when prices dropped 4.7 percent.

Producer prices have been falling since July last year.

Prices in the export market declined 5.8 percent annually and those in the import market dropped 7 percent. Prices in the domestic market fell 2.4 percent.

Lower prices for electricity gave the largest contribution to the downturn on the domestic market for February, the agency said.

Compared to the previous month, producer prices decreased 0.1 percent in February.
