Switzerland’s consumer prices continued to decline in June, though at a slower pace than in the prior month, figures from the Federal Statistical Office showed Monday.

The consumer price index dropped 1.0 percent year-over-year in June, slower than May’s 1.2 percent decrease. Prices have been falling since November last year.

Prices of food and beverages fell 0.8 percent in June from a year ago and housing and energy costs went down by 0.4 percent. Meanwhile, clothing and footwear prices grew 0.6 percent.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.2 percent in June, following a 0.2 percent climb in the preceding month. It was the second consecutive monthly rise.

The EU measure of inflation, the harmonized index of consumer prices dipped 0.6 percent annually in June. Compared to the previous month, the HICP rose 0.2 percent in June.
