Switzerland’s producer and import prices dropped as expected in June, data from the Federal Statistical Office showed Tuesday.
Producer and import prices fell 6.1 percent year-over-year in June, in line with expectations, slightly faster than May’s 6.0 percent decline. Prices have been falling since October 2013.
On a monthly basis, producer and import prices dropped for the third straight month in June by 0.1 percent after falling 0.8 percent in the preceding month. Economists had expected the index to remain flat during the month.
Producer prices dipped 4.3 percent in June from a year ago, while showed no variations from the prior month. Import prices plunged 10.0 percent annually and edged down 0.2 percent monthly in June.
