Time For Republicans To Unite Under Donald Trump

Friday night, Sarah Palin called on Republicans to unify behind front-runner Donald Trump for the GOP Presidential nomination.

Donald Trump is the only one who understands “common sense is an endangered species in Washington,” Mrs. Palin, John McCain’s Y 2008 running mate and a former Alaska governor, said at the Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, GOP dinner.

“Donald Trump is the only one who really understands this reality,” she said Palin of the Donald Trump, who was not at the dinner. “He’s the only one who creates private sector jobs, balances budgets and builds things, he builds big things.”

She went on to attack rivals Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who also attended the dinner, accusing them of “seducing illegal immigrants with gift baskets…come on over the border and we will give you baskets of teddy bears and soccer balls.”

“It is just inviting more. Candidates can say anything they want to about immigration, but actions scream so much louder than a politician’s words,” she said.

Later, at the dinner, Senator Ted Cruz took the stage and insisted that he is the one who is truly unifying the party.

“If we are divided, we will lose the primary and hand the general election to Hillary Clinton,” he said.

John Kasich told dinner guests that he understands the frustration Donald Trump’s supporters feel. The Ohio governor, who has also served in the US House of Representatives, insisted that he “never wanted to be a professional politicians” and that he doesn’t like politics.

Also Friday, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul said he would support Donald Trump if he becomes the Republican Presidential nominee, but he is not going to endorse any of the 3 remaining candidates in the race while the primary season is still on.
