In what may be a stroke of luck for Hillary Clinton, whose medical condition has been the only topic of belated mainstream media discussion this week, earlier today Donald Trump’s campaign announced that it would not release his medical records or the results of his physical examination on “The Dr. Oz Show.” The campaign said Monday the medical information will be released “this week.” Trump told CNBC on Monday that “I saw what was going on with her and I said, ‘You know, I’m going to go do something’ and I actually took a physical last week and probably, I guess this week, will release the results of it.”

He then told “Fox and Friends” in a phone interview Monday that he’ll “be releasing very, very specific numbers. Hopefully they’re going to be good,” he said. “I think they’re going to be good. I feel great.” But on Wednesday the campaign said the information will be released “soon,” NBC’s Katy Tur reported.

Trump is set to tape his interview on “Dr. Oz” on Wednesday. The show will air Thursday.  While the interview is expected to touch on Trump’s fitness for office it won’t delve into results from Trump’s recent exam or lab work, the Hill reported; instead Trump will focus on general health issues like the importance of an active lifestyle and positive thinking, as well as health-related political issues.

Oz told Fox News Radio’s “Kilmeade & Friends” that he would only touch on parts of the physical that Trump was open to discussing, and wouldn’t delve into uncomfortable topics. He added he wouldn’t talk about Clinton’s health at all.  Oz is a Republican who endorsed John McCain for president in 2008.

After the interview, Fox host Brian Kilmeade suggested that Oz would deliver Trump’s test results live on air.

Trump has sought to frame the release of his medical information as measure of transparency as his allies accuse Clinton of being too secretive about her recent diagnosis.

But it’s unlikely that the Oz interview will amount to a thorough discussion of his medical information, so those interested in Trump’s health records will have to wait until those specific documents are released by the campaign.

While much of the attention has – finally – focused on Hillary’s health, the only current medical information from Trump is a short, oft-criticized letter from his doctor released last year, which claims Trump would be “the healthiest person ever elected president.”  Dr. Harold Bornstein revealed last month that he spent five minutes writing that letter while a limo was waiting outside his office.

Meanwhile, as speculation emerges whether Trump is hiding something, Hillary who supposedly felt “great” on Sunday afternoon, has yet to emerge from her protective cocoon: according to AP, Hillary Clinton will resume campaign travel Thursday at which point her every move, cough and sneeze will be scrutinized with a microscope.
