Turkey’s consumer confidence worsened in December, after improving to a 19-month high in the previous month, survey figures from the Turkish Statistical Institute showed Monday.
The consumer confidence index dropped to 73.6 in December from 77.1 in November. In October, the reading was 62.8.
The general economic situation expectation index weakened to 99.91 in December from 105.90 in the preceding month. Similarly, the index measuring households’ financial expectations over the next twelve months fell to 93.19 from 95.66.
The number of people unemployed expectation index decreased by 7.4 percent compared to the previous month and stood at 78.41 in December.
The probability of saving index, which indicates the possibility of saving of consumers in the next 12 months, edged up to 22.79 in December from 22.37 in the previous month.
