Turkey’s consumer confidence index climbed less-than-expected in April, after falling sharply in the previous month, figures from Turkstat showed Wednesday.

The consumer confidence index rose to 65.4 in April from March’s six-year low of 64.4. Economists had expected the index increase to 66.0.

The probability of saving index increased by 8.5 percent to 22.37 in April from 20.61 in the preceding month. Similarly, the index measuring expectations for the number of unemployed people in the next twelve months rose to 66.75 from 65.28.

Meanwhile, the general economic situation index fell slightly to 86.12 in April from 86.30 in March. The index measuring the expectations on the financial situations of households came in at 86.16 in April, up from 85.37 in the prior month.
