Turkey’s industrial production growth slowed markedly in September, figures from the Turkish Statistical Institute showed Monday.

Industrial production rose a calendar-adjusted 2.8 percent year-over-year in September, much slower than the 7.2 percent sharp climb in the previous month. However, it was the eighth consecutive monthly increase.

Manufacturing production grew 3.2 percent annually in September and that for utility sector advanced by 6.0 percent. At the same time, mining and quarrying output plunged by 9.2 percent.

On a monthly basis, industrial production showed no variations in September after a 3.0 percent gain in August. In July, production had fallen 1.5 percent.
