Turkey’s manufacturing activity expanded at the fastest pace in 13 months in December, survey results from Markit showed Monday.

The headline Istanbul Chamber of Industry Turkey manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index rose to 52.2 in December from 50.9 in November. It was forecast to fall to 50.6.

The reading signaled the strongest overall improvement in manufacturing conditions since November 2014.

The PMI was positively influenced by the output, new orders, employment and stocks of purchases components, while suppliers’ delivery times was broadly neutral.
