The U.S. dollar extended its early strength against most major currencies ahead of European session on Tuesday.

The U.S. dollar rose to nearly a 3-1/2-month high of 1.2707 against the Canadian dollar, from an early low of 1.2643.

Against the euro, the pound and the Swiss franc, the greenback climbed to an 8-day high of 1.0958, more than a 3-week high of 1.5496 and a 5-day high of 0.9479 from early lows of 1.1057, 1.5608 and 0.9420, respectively.

Moving away from early lows of 1.7500 against the Australian dollar and 0.6685 against the NZ dollar, the greenback advanced to a 6-year low of 0.7424 and a 5-year low of 0.6619, respectively.

If the greenback extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 1.28 against the loonie, 1.07 against the euro, 1.52 against the pound, 0.97 against the franc, 0.72 against the aussie and 0.65 against the kiwi.
